Corey Yates’, SPF Insulation Project Manager Certification

New Orleans, LA. With energy savings up to 50% per month it’s no wonder spray polyurethane foam insulation has become as popular as it has to reduce home energy usage for homeowners worldwide. In the United States, homes treated with spray foam insulation often qualify for state and federal tax deductions.

That is why, Corey Yates and Monica Boshnack, owners of Sunlight Contractors are proud to announce that Corey has achieved the highest certification level offered by the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA); that of SPF Insulation Project Manager.

What does a SPF Project Manager do? Corey Yates explains, “This certification is specifically designed for individuals with extensive Knowledge and Skills in all aspects of SPF (Spray Polyurethane Foam) in various installations as well as knowledge and skills in building science/design, material selection/estimating, and codes and standards compliance.”

Achieving the highest level of certification and using the best spray foam insulation equipment is an integral part of Sunlight Contractors’ philosophy to, “Do it once, do it right and enjoy the benefits forever.”

Spray foam insulation is an alternative to traditional building insulation such as fiberglass and has numerous advantages, including:

  • Spray foam insulation saves on energy costs and lowers utility bills. Studies by the US Department of Energy show that 40% of a home’s energy is lost as the result of air infiltration through attics, walls, windows and doorways. Buildings treated with spray foam insulation typically insulate as much as 50% better than traditional insulation products.
  • Insulation that is sprayed in buildings protects against moisture, which provides the benefit of reducing the chance of harmful mold and mildew. Eliminating mold growth reduces the likelihood of rotting wood in a home, and allergic reactions to mold spores.
  • In addition to building temperature and moisture control, spray foam insulation is often used to reduce noise. Foam insulation serves as a barrier to airborne sounds, and reduces airborne sound transfer through a building’s roof, floor and walls.
  • R-value is the term given to thermal resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value of an insulation product, the more effective the insulation properties. is the highest of readily available insulation used in homes and buildings.
