Harvey Loves Sunlight!

Harvey, Louisiana is a small town, nestled outside of New Orleans. Harvey, Louisiana offers that small town feel but is also so close to the main attractions of New Orleans. Harvey is 7 square miles long right next to the Mississippi River. Harvey, just like New Orleans and surrounding areas has its historical landmarks including the tugboats situated in the Harvey Canal. The Harvey Canal, previously known as the Destrehan Canal, was dugout before 1845, and then successfully completed interconnecting the Mississippi River to the Bayou Barataria in 1907.

Harvey carries along the creole traditions with many family-owned seafood and creole cuisines scattered around its lovely city limits. Harvey is also known for its riverboat cruises that are easily accessible through the Harvey Locks. Riverboat casinos tug a way all across the Mississippi River including Harvey’s most infamous riverboat Boomtown Casino with over 30,000 sq. ft. of gaming and numerous rooms. Boomtown remains a staple in Harvey, Louisiana's history and flourishment.

Home Inspections for Harvey Homes

Before you purchase any home, a home inspection is not only recommended but it is necessary. When you are looking for a home inspector to do the first inspection of your home make sure they are licensed, certified, and not affiliated with the real estate agency at all.

A third-party home inspector should give you recommendations on the entire house including inspecting the attic and crawling through the crawl space. Inspections are important, that is why after each job that Sunlight Contractors finishes it is inspected 3-5 days later to make sure the job is perfect or to fix any mistakes that may have been made. After installing open cell spray foam in the attic Sunlight Contractors will send a senior technician out to the home to test the attic with a infrared imaging camera.

This camera will show places in the attic that are unsealed which will be spots that were missed or not sprayed enough. Our senior technician carries a can of spray foam with him to secure any spots as he sees them to make sure any attic has a full monolithic seal. Even master installers can make mistakes, but we cover our projects and make sure the job is always left 100% perfect.

-Dennis B. of Harvey, LA

“Great experience with everyone that came out to the job site. They performed everything spelled out in the contract and kept us informed with every step of the way. Even sent out an independent inspector to check and see if the spray foam was done correctly after the job was finished. So glad we had this done.”

Harvey is home to many upstanding citizens, being one of the safest cities in New Orleans city limits. Dennis B. from Harvey, Louisiana shared his experience with Sunlight Contractors, and Why you should never skip a home inspection.
