What is Spray Foam?

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is a spray-applied plastic that can form a continuous insulation and air sealing barrier on walls, roofs, around corners, and on all contoured surfaces. It is made by mixing and reacting unique liquid components at the job site to create foam. The liquids react very quickly when mixed, expanding on contact to create foam that insulates, seals gaps, and can form moisture and vapor barriers. SPF insulation is known to resist heat transfer extremely well, and it offers a highly effective solution in reducing unwanted air infiltration through cracks, seams, and joints.

Residential Home Insulation
Our GACO spray foam insulation in New Orleans and all of Southern Louisiana offers protection against moisture, preventing the growth of mold and mildew. It also seals up lighting fixtures, ductwork, and other areas where unseen cracks and tears lurk, allowing pollen, dust, and other allergens to spread throughout your house.
  • If your home is still being built or undergoing serious renovations, it’s easier to properly insulate them. Before wallboard or other finished wall materials are installed, spray foam insulation can be applied and then scraped to fit snugly between wall joists and under wall coverings. The hardened foam provides a permanent thermal and air barrier that never settles, degrades, or loses R-value.

    Spray Foam Insulation Services
  • If you realize that wall insulation is a must and your walls are already finished, blown-in insulation is a safe way to add insulation. One method for insulating finished walls involves drilling access holes near the top and bottom of the wall cavity and blowing cellulose insulation into empty stud cavities.
We also can spray your attic floor with cellulose insulation after we remove any prior existing insulation to avoid any moisture nightmares.

Blown-In Insulation For Finished Walls & Attic
  • Sunlight Contractors can help you identify air leaks in your home with our blower door test and home energy audit. We can quantify exactly how much air is leaking out of your house and pinpoint the location of those leaks. When we’ve found all them, we can seal them up whether they’re in your ducts, around your windows and doors, in walls and attic floors, or elsewhere in your home. Recessed light fixtures are among the most common air leak offenders, and we can seal those just as safely and efficiently as all the others.

Once your home is air sealed, those rooms that are stifling in the summer due to hot air infiltration will be cool. Rooms that are chilly and full of drafts in the winter because of cold air infiltration will be toasty warm.
