Sunlight Contractors says it all about total energy usage, not just alternative energy.

Louisiana based contracting company setting new standards in home energy reduction.

Jan 14, 2014 – New Orleans, LA Sunlight Contractors, LLC has announced that it is setting a new standard within the solar and home energy audit (RESNET HERS RATER) industries by making a comprehensive home energy audit mandatory before they will consider installing any type of solar system.

Monica Boshnack president of Sunlight Contractors, LLC said, “We’re changing the focus from just solar or just home energy audits to a complete home energy reduction strategy. No one else in Louisiana has the licensing certifications and solar experience we have and can offer a complete home energy reduction plan like we do. ”

The new company policy mandates that every homeowner have their home audited from top to bottom by either a licensed and certified BPI Building Performance Analyst for older homes or a RESNET certified (HERS) home energy rater for newer homes before they purchase any type of solar system.

Sunlight Contractors is offering home energy audits along with a complete solar analysis, normally a $750.00 value, for free to qualified homeowners until the 5th of April.

The net effect of the new policy is to arm each homeowner with a complete home energy reduction strategy prior to even considering making a purchase.

“We’ve looked into it and have yet to find any company in Louisiana that offers this level of service up front, let alone for free. Eliminating energy leaks and reducing your overall usage while adding a solar system has the effect of potentially reducing your utility bill close to zero,” said Corey Yates founder of Sunlight Contractors, LLC.

Up until now, the solar industry and home energy audit industry have largely been separate from each other. A few solar companies offer home energy reduction as part of their services, but they are usually there to sell solar systems first. The home energy reduction services are often ancillary and can be performed by unlicensed and untrained solar installers.

“Always ask to see a contractors photo ID and proof or proper licensing before you allow them into your home. Shoddy work and outright fraud by some contractors can lead to far more problems than they purport to fix,” warns Monica Boshnack. “We’re professionals at what we do and we certify not only our methods but the results as well.”

Sunlight Contractors, LLC has over 300 solar installations in Louisiana and company founder Corey Yates is a licensed contractor for: Residential and commercial building construction, mechanical contractor, electrical contractor, licensed master plumber, licensed mold remediation specialist, solar energy specialty contractor and business law. Also, Yates is a certified BPI Building Performance Analyst, RESNET (HERS) Home energy Rater and an Energy Star for Homes licensed professional.
